WAKO....The World Governing Body for Kickboxing

2009 sees stage 3 of the planned improvement's for WAKO GB, especially as it also now

encompasses both the Amateur and Professional activities all under one roof, but

with the two still having induvidual internal workings and divide . The opportunity to do this

has been welcomed with open arms by the Executive at HQ.

A restructure, management shuffle and brand new marketing plan will

herald a new look WAKO GB. Through careful planning and the interaction between the two, it will ensure that all the cogs fit to turn in the same direction. This in turn should provide a structured and systematic form of progression within any chosen discipline.

WAKO would like to extend its open door policy to everyone, hopefully allowing the country’s top fighters to be involved in well run competition anywhere throughout the country. WAKO has always spelled quality in top level competition, whether in the UK

or abroad,again in both Amateur and Pro. There will also be regular

opportunities to travel.Any fighters who are already champions within

WAKO Pro are requested to update all their fight records and contact

details by emailing wakoprogb@aol.com

Any Judges, Referees or officials should also register for the new

courses that will be introduced this year, also by

emailing wakoprogb@aol.com

Our brand new web pages will then be updated, allowing everyone

to be able to keep tabs on how all those in the relevant category are

doing. This will also make it easier for coaches and fighters to see

who is up and coming or who is the current champion and allow them

to apply for their next challenge.

New fighters wishing to register with WAKO Pro can also do so. (Please consult your coach before doing this as they may want to supply information on your behalf).

We are also planning to release a ranking system at a later date, as and when we believe we have sufficient up to date information on hand. Only registered fighters (No organisation bias) will be featured, however this will not stop anyone registering at anytime thereafter and being placed on the tables or indeed, challenging.

WAKO Pro has introduced a new fight purse and expenses programme which will more than cover the efforts put in by our country’s top athletes. This, along with title belts worth fighting for, will make the WAKO titles even more sought after.

We also welcome any new or reputable promoters to register with us as we will be pleased to sanction WAKO Pro fights on suitable shows. These can range from fully sanctioned novice shows to one or several National level bouts on one show. WAKO Pro will also

supply a full Refereeing/Judging team to any promoter if requested.
