Greg Darmon WAKO Pro British Champion!
Full report to be featured in Fighters magazine.
A real thriller. Greg paid tribute to John Lloyd who stepped up to meet the challenge. Even though Lloyd was dropped 3 times he returned to his feet to complete the 7 rounds (3 knockdowns in WAKO Pro doesn't mean the fight is automatically stopped.) Lloyd recovered each time in true spirit and fought from the heart!
Darmon the winner by unanimous decision.More to come.

Ed Bettison of Kaos Kickboxing Wolverhampton beat a very strong Martin Robinson, "Ozzie", in their WAKO Pro, Pro-Am bout. Both fighters took it to the line in a pefectly matched bout which undercarded the fight above.
Another quality WAKO Pro show.
Both Jon Santry and Jon Durrant knew that on the 11th May 2008 they both had something different to bring to the table at Castle Park Doncaster. However just who would reign victorious from this mix was questioned and also predicted by many. Jon Santry known as a hard hitter and a fighter who likes mixing it and Jon Durrant who is long in reach and the leg who we thought would fight at a distance.
Durrant looked like he had done his homework,
he kept Santry leaving him
struggling with
his reach and his kick count. Santry was Instructed to move in and close the guy down with his hands and retun his kicks on the way out, but Durrant could box as equally well on the inside. When Santry failed another round on his missed kicks it was nearly time for plan B, Santry had to look for the knockout when he missed another round of kicks and Durrant seemed to take the majority of the points in this round also. He boxed his life out and showed he could take blistering shots. With a chin of iron he carried on!
Then in toe to toe action for the last rounds these two hardened fighters set to! They were working each other on the inside constantly, one minute Durrants head went back, the next minute it was Santrys. This carried on until the last bell. The judges returned their verdict in the form of a unanimous decision for the Red corner and winner Mr Jon Durrant.
Credit to both fighters, well done, a real crowd pleaser, some boig thundering shots which if some had been bang on target any could have ended the fight at anytime.
A WAKO PRO TITLE FIGHT TO REMEMBER!
